Merry Christmas!  I love the holidays!!!  Today I love them because they have me at the home of a family member with wireless internet keeping me from the booths of IHOP.   It has been one busy semester so far.  I am certain that it will continue to be so as the last half of the year blazes by over the next few weeks.  I am also certain that I will miss this bunch of kiddos at school a whole heap when school is out in May.  (That's right kids who read this--I actually like you all.  I just can't show it at school--I've got an image you know  )  Anyway Lola the cute puppy, whose picture is now below for your viewing pleasure (8 months old), and I wish you happy holidays and a wonderful new year (cuz it will probably be that long before I can update again)! Ok, so it has been a hundred years.  Let me preface by saying that I am limited to the internet at IHOP and I'm poor. . .so it doesn't happen often.  Anyway.  I have been sooo busy that I don't remember what I'm doing from one minute to the next.  School has been a crazy place to be--I still love my job. . .just some days more than others.  When I finally arrive at my home (whatever time of the evening that is) Lola--the dog--and I just sit there and look at each other. . .then fall asleep.  I go to many a football game and try to catch a movie here and there.  I saw Gridiron Gang and enjoyed it very much. . .except for the horrible language, but I kind of expected it.  I have actually begun to read a book (gasp!), but don't know how long I will get to do that.  I will be travelling to Nashville November 1-4 for a conference and I am really excited about that.  Ron Clark himself is our keynote speaker!!  (if you don't know who that is--google him)  Hopefully I will have lots to share after that.

Back to school. . .the fact is I never left.  I have spent my summer working hard at the old school house to make sure that we have a smooth transition into this new year.  (truth is I am an organization freak who can't go to school two days before it starts and have my classroom and lessons in order for the year--I would freak out)  So, sorry it has been so long since I've had a new post.  This one won't be long, as I am only taking a break from, you guessed it, work!  Here is my big suggestion--if you haven't seen Over the Hedge or the new Pirates film (let's pause for appreciate of Johnny and Orlando  **sigh**). . .what are you waiting for?!?!  You should go and enjoy some fun at the movies before summer goes away.  :)

I love being a school teacher.  One of the biggest reasons is that I get a two month long vacation (with pay I might add) to recoup and regroup for the next new crop of kiddos.  This summer my plans were as follows:  read all the books I want that have nothing to do with school and spoil/train my new puppy (pictures will come shortly--don't you worry).  So far, I have been at the school almost every single day, I went with my fantastic cheerleaders to camp, have taken three professional development classes, and, yes, begun the training/spoiling of my puppy, Lola (beagle--currently 8 1/2 weeks old. . .it's ok to be jealous, I would be).  Not a book in sight.  Why is it that I have chosen to be at work when I don't have to be?  Am I just crazy?  Or do I have a greater sense of dedication to my work than even I knew about?  I am leaning towards the crazy even though the dedicated makes me look better.  I did purchase a new book yesterday and read the first few pages of it last night. . .it has promise.  The title The Man of My Dreams.  No, it is not a self-help book.  It is a novel about a girl and her life-long search for that perfect man to love.  I am hoping for more laughter than tears, but who knows with these books.  I am catching up on my movie watching and am in great anticipation of the new Pirates of the Caribbean (I am sure that I spelled that wrong, but I'm on vacation--let it slide) which comes out in a couple weeks.  If you have any reading/movie suggestions feel free to leave them for me.

School's. . .out. . . .for. . .summer!!!  WooHooo!!!  I am so glad that we have begun summer vacation.  I love my kids, but I need some time away from them.  I am very proud of all their accomplishments.  I will be having a good old time at cheer camp in a couple weeks and after that I am completely home free from the school until August.  I will probably be up there often because I will get bored.  But, it's nice to know I can sleep in and stay home if I want to.

I hope that everyone has a marvelous Memorial Day weekend.  Enjoy your holiday!!
